Honest imagery.

Thoughtfully made.

I work in the space between unposed and intentional, where honesty and meaning meet.

My approach is documentary at its core, shaped by fifteen years in the creative industry, including four as a Creative Director. I hold both at once. The human side and the considered one. Paying attention not just to what's unfolding, but why it matters.

Whether I'm shooting a campaign, a growing brand, or a portrait, the focus is the same: creating images that feel honest, emotionally grounded, and true to the people at the centre of them.

A documentary approach.

I'm drawn to what's real. The small gestures, the in-between moments, the quiet energy that exists between people.

Whether I'm photographing a portrait, a campaign, or everyday life through a brand's lens, I bring the same documentary mindset, led by presence and intuition. My aim is to create imagery that feels rooted in truth and emotionally grounded. Photographs that don't just show what something looked like, but what it felt like.

  • "Working with Kateland was honestly one of the best creative experiences I have had. She truly listened, understood the vision behind my brand, and somehow brought to life exactly what I had imagined, even the details I struggled to put into words."

    Payal Sharma / Founder, Herdmate

  • "Kateland's background as a Creative Director is a huge advantage. She understands the bigger picture behind a campaign, collaborates seamlessly with clients, and genuinely cares about the people she's photographing. We can't wait to work with her again."

Chloe Jung / Art Director, Pound & Grain

  • "Kateland was a dream to work with. She made everyone feel comfortable, which resulted in authentic, natural images. Her keen eye for design shone through in every photograph. We were blown away."

Marie Gosal / Executive Design Director, Engine Digital

  • "I've worked with many photographers over the years, and Kateland is one of the best. She has a special ability to capture those fleeting moments of beauty and emotion."

I'm endlessly curious
about people.

It's the thread that's run through every chapter of my career, from fifteen years in the creative industry, including four as a Creative Director, to the work I do today as a photographer. I've always been drawn to understanding what matters to people, and finding the most honest way to tell their story.

Photography became a way to bring those worlds together. It gives me the chance to slow down, build trust, and create images that feel as genuine as the people in front of the camera.

How I work.

Curiosity comes first.

Long before I think about cameras or compositions, I want to understand the people at the heart of the work. What matters to them, what they're building, and what they hope others will feel. That curiosity shapes every decision that follows.

Trust changes everything.

The best work happens when people feel safe enough to be themselves. Whether I'm collaborating with a creative team or photographing someone one-on-one, trust creates the space for honest moments and genuine connection.

Every detail has a purpose.

strong photographs don't happen by accident. They come from thoughtful planning, clear collaboration, and an understanding of the bigger picture. Every decision is made intentionally, so the final images don't just look beautiful, they communicate something meaningful.

Whether you know exactly what you're looking for or you're still figuring it out, I'd love to hear what you're working on. The best projects often start with a simple conversation.
